Day 13 - Rest Day in Santa Fe, NM

Tour Stats to date - 950 miles - 33,663 ft ascending (6.37 miles) - 60 hours in the saddle

I took it easy in Santa Fe today.  Gave the bike a good cleaning and lubed the chain this morning.

Went to the old Plaza for breakfast at Plaza Cafe.  Talked to family.   Wandered around the art galleries and gift shops.  A beer at La Fonda Rooftop. Then back to the hotel around 3:00 for an easy evening.  

Fond memories of coming to Santa Fe with Erika for our anniversary some 20+ years ago and staying at the Inn of the Anasazi.  Then I was here again in 2008 to ride the Santa Fe Century.  I thought that was a challenge, but it is nothing compared to this cross country trip.  The 2023 Santa Fe Century is tomorrow so maybe our paths will cross.

Tomorrow we start a 9 day riding stretch before the next rest day.  It will take us out of New Mexico, through Texas, Oklahoma and well into Kansas.  I feel strong both physically and mentally, but that stretch will test both!
